Founded in 2007, the Promenade Concert Orchestra was created to bring this joyful musical tradition to audiences in Morecambe, around the Bay, and beyond. Since then, the orchestra has built a much-loved concert series at The Platform, Morecambe, delighting local residents, visitors and loyal supporters with programmes full of charm, colour and memorable tunes.

Over the years, the PCO has also taken its music to audiences across the region, including Grange-over-Sands, Settle, the Ribble Valley, Chorley, Lancaster Grand Theatre and Blackpool Winter Gardens. Its wide-ranging repertoire celebrates the golden age of light orchestral entertainment, from Palm Court, ballroom and café music to music from shows, radio, television and film, alongside Viennese favourites, ballet music and much more.

The orchestra brings together professional, semi-professional and highly skilled amateur musicians from the Kendal, Lancaster and Morecambe areas, all sharing a passion for keeping this elegant and entertaining musical tradition alive.

After nineteen highly successful seasons, 90 performances, more than 17,000 audience attendances, critical acclaim, a Sunshine Culture Award and a Highly Commended Entertainment Award, the Promenade Concert Orchestra continues to look forward with confidence and excitement. Now a registered charity, the PCO is proud to present four new Music for You programmes at The Platform, Morecambe, warmly inviting audiences old and new to enjoy the magic of live orchestral music.
