Brian Lancaster was born in London and was introduced to singing as a member of a local church choir. After moving North, his interest grew, and he was soon singing principal roles in the Savoy Operas with Heysham Parish Choral Society and St. Joseph’s AODS in Lancaster, a company for which he later directed. Musical shows, oratorios, operas and recitals followed and he is now in demand throughout the North West.
His operatic roles include Macbeth, Escamillo in Carmen. The Count in the Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, Sparafulcile in Rigoletto, and many others for Preston Opera, Encore, Instant Opera and Cumbria Opera. He has performed in oratorios and concerts for many choral societies around the country. A favourite of the Lake District summer recitals, he is as equally at home with barbershop as Verdi.
